Josiah grew up in a dying world. The Holdout survived, but when you are the son of Sylvia Cragen, you give up delusions early. He knew that they would die bloody--it wasn't a matter of if. Only when.

Parker shouldn't be alive. He should have died long before scouts from the Last Holdout rescued him. And he knows better than to believe that sailing away from the safety of the Holdout is a good idea.

Now, without the Holdout to protect them, all of his nightmares are coming true. Josiah is just crazy enough to believe that a fresh start is a good thing. But Parker has lived as prey, hunted by zombies and survivors before--and he knows that no one really survives. In the wild, zombie claimed world outside the walls of safety, there is only the dead walking.

Nazarea ceases to amaze me!!

The World Without End books are by far some of my favorite post-apocalyptic books that I've ever read. (Plus there's zombies, so that makes everything better.) When the original series ended I was sad to see Finn & Ren go, they're a highly explosive combination of bad ass & hotness rolled into one screwed-up couple. So when I heard that Nazarea was resurrecting this series with a spin off I couldn't WAIT to read it!

Though this novel was written from a different character's POV, I got that taste of Finn & Ren I'd been craving. The main characters were a fantastic addition to the series as a whole! Their faults, flaws and everything in between had my mind guessing what their next move was going to be, or what faux-paw would spew out of their mouths next. Plus, honestly, the fact that they were Finn's brothers made the entire storyline even more intriguing. As Josiah & Parker's back stories unfolded it truly tied all the previous books together with this one. You could see a larger, more in-depth picture being painted!

At first I wasn't really drawn to Parker like I was Josiah, but after hearing all the gory details of Parkers past my heart bled for him. The battles he fought on a daily basis made all his personality "flaws" understandable & as a character he became vulnerable. (Which made me love him more)

Now.....with the way this book ended I'm praying, PRAYING, PRAYING there will be another book....

Honestly if this book would have ended with the words, "No more zombies! They Happily Ever After!", I still would be praying & begging for another book!

Here's to hoping the literary gods & Nazarea are hearing my prayers!

5/5

When not writing, she can most often be found driving her kids to practice and burning dinner while she reads, or binging watching TV shows on Netflix. N loves chocolate, wine, and coffee almost as much as she loves books, but not quite as much as she loves her kids. She lives in south Georgia with her husband, daughters, spoiled cat and overgrown dog. She is the author of World Without End series, Neverland Found, Edge of the Falls, and The University of Branton Series.
