=========================

The 52nd - By Dela
Publication date: October 27th 2014
Genres: Paranormal, Young Adult

Not one of the sacrifices chosen over the long history had survived–until now.
On the tip of the Yucatan peninsula, the immortal Castillo family gathers in Tulum. Weary and haunted, they receive the names of fifty-two human sacrifices chosen once every fifty-two years for the Underworld, a tradition thought to have disappeared with the fall of the Aztec and Mayan empires.

Driving home one night, college freshman Zara Moss swerves to avoid hitting a ghastly figure in the road. Lucas Castillo witnesses the car crash, but when it comes time to supervise her abduction from the wreckage, he intervenes. Something is different about Zara: Lucas has been having dreams of her arrival for five hundred years.

As Lucas and Zara come together to put an end to the bloody sacrifices, they discover that the ancient tradition isn’t so easily broken. The gods are angry, and they have until the Winter Solstice to drag Zara to the Underworld.

{Blog Tour: Review + Giveaway} Seduced - B y Jennifer Snyder

Author: Jennifer Snyder
Website
Release Date: 2/24/2015
Purchase Info: Amazon ~ B&N
Life isn’t so bad for succubus, Kenna Blake. True, she seems to be the only succubus with a conscience and a specific strategy for finding her male meals, but she has a cute new apartment, a budding graphic design business, and the most unique friends she’s ever had.
Her personal love life, however, is non-existent.
Until the legendary vampire Randal Vincent sweeps into her life. Even though he isn’t someone she set out to date, at least she can kiss him without killing him. But when you’re dating someone who’s the inspiration for Dracula, there are bound to be a few hiccups along the way…

C-H-E-M-I-S-T-R-Y!

Talk about hotness written all over the pages of this book....man!

Honestly every aspect of this book had be enthralled, from Kenna's background, to her relationship with everyone around her, and even when it comes to Randal. There wasn't a moment when I was reading this book and thought, 'This is boring', it was more like, 'O-M-G! Yes, LOVE IT!'.

Immediately from the first sentence Kenna had my attention, she was smart, calculated, and able to assess situations quickly. She probably would have made a badass assassin too....but that's a different story line. Aside from her personal traits you can tell that she's missing something, a piece of her non-existent. Her friends try to fill that void, I mean Dex would be my #1 sidekick for everything. He's strong, protective, and I can tell his intentions for Kenna are pure....unlike Sage. Have you ever had that feeling about a character that you just can't shake?? That's Sage for me....I'll be keeping a close eye on him and yelling, AH-HA, when he messes up! Yet, as soon as Randal enters her life things start to heat up quickly. It almost seems too perfect that he enters when he does....don't get me wrong I love their dynamic as a couple and partners, but I think this will start to play out more as the series goes on.

Now I could go on into multiple details about everything, the plot, how well all the side-plots twisting into the main story, but what I really what to do is dive into the next book in this series!

{Book Blitz + Giveaway} The Lemorian Crest - By Hannah L. Clark

=======================

The Lemorian Crest - BHannah L. Clark
(Cobbogoth #2)
Release Date: July 2015

After being raised from infancy in Boston, Mass., Noria (a.k.a Norah Lukens) has no idea what to expect upon entering New Cobbogoth, where she never would have guessed that paths of light can make you vanish; doors can lead to realms both near and far; myths and legends are actual history; a mere kiss can seal two souls as one; and, of course, a stone is never “just a stone.” Her Uncle Jack’s stories never could have prepared her for the magical and dangerous place her native realm is turning out to be.

When the Gihara’s promises begin to crumble, her best friend and soul-mate Jamus (a.k.a. James Riley) is in more danger than ever. Then when his father Lylend abandons her to search for an ancient relic called The Lemorian Crest and she is taken captive by the very people she’s risked everything to save, Noria begins to lose faith in the Cobbogothian gods and the mission they sent her home to accomplish.

Only when a series of new friendships and loyalties are forged in the most peculiar of places, does Noria dare hope again. Hope for Jamus’ safety, for their future together, and for the survival of the entire Cobbogothian race.

Book 1: Uncovering Cobbogoth was published in 2014 by Cedar Fort Publishing.

First book in the series:

==================

About the Author:

Hannah L. Clark lives with her husband and two children in the Rocky Mountains. She has always known she would be a storyteller. In 2006 she graduated from Utah Valley University with a bachelor's degree in English and immediately began writing her first novel.

Uncovering Cobbogoth was Clark's first book in the seven book Cobbogoth series based on her mythological brain-child, The Legend of the Cobbogothians. It was released in May 2014 through Cedar Fort Publishing. Book 2 in the series, The Lemorian Crest will be released in Summer 2015.

Clark loves running, mythology, singing while playing the guitar, herbal tea, escaping into imaginary worlds, and being with her peeps. Like her heroine Norah, she also kind of believes that trees might have souls, but must clarify that she has never actually hugged a tree. The closest she has ever come to that kind of bizarre behavior was the time she hugged the pillars outside Harry Potter Land. Which, all things considered, is not bizarre at all if you take into account how exquisitely happy she was to finally be there. ;-)

Exclusive Excerpt:

Wallace Bryce Talbert was dead. She was standing next to him, and distantly, she was aware of the blood spilling out, spreading to seep around her toes, sinking into the crack of her feet. They had hardwood floors. She could mop. She should mop. Except it was a crime scene. You didn’t just mop up a crime scene. There were procedures to follow and—her stomach heaved suddenly, and she whirled, her foot sliding in the spreading blood as she scrambled for the trash bin. She’s still in the dress she wore to their engagement party, her hair half down in, makeup smudged. Hair falls in the trashcan, and she gags as vomit catches in it. She straightened slowly and made a face. Wonderful.

There was now a dead body on the floor and vomit in her hair. The night was definitely on a downward spiral. There is a sharp knock on the front door, but Charlie doesn't move to answer. She shouldn't have called Ella, but it happened before she could think, while Wallace was still gasping, his eye shocked and angry while she fumbled for her phone and stood over him. "Charlie?" The voice breaks the cocoon of distance, and she draws in a shuddering breath. "Oh holy fuck." EJ breathes the curse like a prayer and stumbles across the room to grab Charlie, yanking her around. Her eyes and hands are frantic as she looks over the other woman, and a hysterical giggle works it's way up Charlie's throat and bubbles over. EJ goes still and watchful, her sharp blue eyes locked onto Charlie's. "Charlie, I need you to focus on me. Tell me what happened." The words snap her laughter off and Charlie shudders, a full body spasm that makes EJ's hands on her shoulders tighten for a heartbeat.

Excerpt:

I had only gone a few steps when the singing began.

I stopped and whirled, my gaze darting about trying to determine the source of the unearthly song that now wafted through the evening air. It came from everywhere and nowhere at the same time. It started low and rose up in power, like a seabird taking to the air. It resonated off the land and sea, the rocks and cliffs lifting into the endless sky above. The singer seemed to reach down into his core and unleashed a song from the very depths of his soul. His music had no words or language of substance to bind it down. Within his passionate performance I found a moment’s release from the shackles that bound me to this earth. Wings to carry me up into the heights of unfettered joy.

The song was both beautiful and tragic. Wild and yet soothing. It captured my heart even as it set my spirits free. It was as if the angel of deliverance himself called out to the weary world, bracing them up on the wings of his eternal hope. And then it was done. The last echoes of the voice faded and silence fell over the land once more. The air did not stir. The birds ceased to sing. In reverence, the whole island seemed to be holding its breath—waiting.

I never was much for waiting.

Bolting in the most unladylike fashion, I raced to the edge of the cliffs and looked down into dark depths far below, trying to catch a glimpse of the singer responsible for my own private audience. The surface of the ocean was a rippling sea of liquid onyx. Within that blackness was a light. It quivered and pulsed beneath the water like a fallen star. At first I believed it to be a reflection of the moon, or a trick of the light, but the longer I stared at it, the more horribly certain I became that this was no illusion. My momentary joy in the lovely song turned upon itself like a maddened beast. Fear crept into its place.

I’d heard sailors speak of something like this before. Ghost lights they called them. They were said to be the lost souls of those who died in the sea. Seeing one was a harbinger of death.

My death.

The light flashed into a fierce brilliance for a moment. I gasped as the welts on my wrist burned with a sudden intensity that made me dizzy. Then it was gone and the fire in my skin retreated as quickly as it came. I looked down into the water with wonder, but the light had vanished, leaving me shivering and alone in dusky darkness.

    Best Writing Advice

When I offer advice to aspiring writer, I always mention the three Ps: Persistence, Passion and Patience.

First, let’s talk about persistence. I had thirty rejections before I was offered agent representation from Christiana Hogrebe of the Jane Rotrosen Agency in New York. If I’d given up after the first few rejections came rolling in, I wouldn’t be a full time author at this time. The reason I succeeded is that I took the suggestions from the agents rejecting me and continued revising Temptation until it was the best it could be. Writers must be willing to take advice (and criticism), hone their skills and keep improving their work. If you’re persistent, you will succeed eventually.

Passion sounds like an easy one, but really, it’s not. The level of passion I’m talking about is being an absolute believer in your story. If you don’t love your book, no one else will. Your passion will keep you going, even during the dark days of rejection and someday, it will pay off.

It’s hard for most people to be patient, especially me. I want things to happen yesterday and I hate waiting. But this is an industry of waiting—waiting for an agent, waiting for a publisher, waiting to sell books, waiting to make a little bit of money selling books. If you’re like me and have little patience, you will have to teach yourself to be patient. I did. And my patience finally paid off with multiple offers for the Temptation series and ultimately a three book publishing deal with Harlequin Teen.

Being a writer isn’t an easy job and it’s definitely not glamorous. There’s a lot of hard work involved that doesn’t end when you get published. As a matter of fact, it really just begins at that point. But if you have the three Ps you can make it too. And a lot of luck doesn’t hurt either ;)

Thank you for being a part of Gaia’s blog tour! I love to connect with readers on my Facebook page, Twitter, Instagram or at www.karenannhopkins.com. Please be on the lookout for the release of SECRETS IN THE GRAVE, the third installment in my mystery series, Serenity’s Plain Secrets, in early September! Thanks for reading!

Ember's exuberance at escaping a bad home life soon turns to trepidation when she finds out that she's a Watcher, a descendant of angels. While Ember learns about her heritage and the powers that go along with it, she strikes up friendships with two young men who live in a frightening walled compound in the forest. Inexplicitly drawn to one of the men in particular, an impossible romance develops. But it is cut short when Ember discovers that her new friends are fighting on the opposite side of a war—one that’s been raging between two factions of Watchers for thousands of years. When the compound’s inhabitants threaten the townspeople, Ember takes action, sealing her fate in the ancient battle of good versus evil—and the grayness in between. Ember is up to the challenge, until she realizes that she isn’t only fighting for the lives of the locals and the souls of her new friends. She also might be one of the few champions who will make a stand for all of mankind as the rapture approaches and the end of days begin.
Embers is a dark and gritty YA novel that’s the first book in the series, The Wings of War.

    About Karen Ann Hopkins:

Karen Ann Hopkins resides in northern Kentucky with her family on a farm that boasts a menagerie of horses, goats, peacocks, chickens, ducks, rabbits, dogs and cats. Karen's main job is home schooling the kids, but she finds time to give riding lessons, coach a youth equestrian drill team, and of course, write. She was inspired to create her first book, Temptation, by the Amish community she lived in. The experiential knowledge she gained through her interactions with her neighbors drove her to create the story of the star-crossed lovers, Rose and Noah.
Karen grew up about a mile from Lake Ontario in Upstate New York. She was bitten by the horse bug at the age of five, and after diligently taking riding lessons for several years, was rewarded with her first horse when she turned eleven. The feisty horse's name was Lady, a Quarter Horse-Thoroughbred cross, who became Karen's steadfast companion. Through the years, the constant force in her life was horses. Eventually, she found her place as a riding instructor herself. Before accepting her fate in the barnyard, she worked a short stint as a paralegal, traveled abroad, and guided tourists on horseback riding tours in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee.
Karen is currently working on her Amish mystery series, Serenity's Plain Secrets, along with the YA paranormal/fantasy series, The Wings of War.  Karen is also excited to announce the Temptation series has been optioned for TV by Pilgrim Studios and is available on Audible. More books in the Temptation series are in the works.
