Holy blindside batman! When starting this book there was NO way that I would have guessed zombies would be popping up....well, I was wrong!
For the record, Daemon isn't your average zombie. There aren't limbs missing, or legs dragging, he is a completely different breed. Long ago, roughly 60 years, he sold his soul to a voodoo priest...for reasons I don't want to spoil. Now with his soul safely in a shelf he has to spend his days doing dirty work, though this crazy priest has big plans....and those involve harming Sky.
Sky is grasping onto what she barely has left around her, and it's not much. After the death of her BFF, moving to no-where Lousianna, and having her mother drop a bomb that she's some sort of "Chosen One", she figured things couldn't get worse. But as Daemon enters her life things start to get complicated for both of them. The "plan" that Daemon's soul-holder wanted to do involves Chosen One sacrafices.....Daemon is not letting that happen. As they both scramble to find an answer to stop this maniac the author was really able to showcase both of the characters strengths, as well as weaknesses.
Everything about this book screamed, UH-MAZE-ING! Rocked my socks off amazing! It was different, fast paced, detailed and balanced every aspect of the story perfectly. Even though the author hasn't written the 2nd book in this series yet, I can guarantee you there will be LOTS of fans lining up for it!
