Cover Whore Reveal: Blood Bond - By Heather Hildenbrand

EPPPPPPP!!

I am SO stoked to sharing it with all of you!

Heather's Dirty Blood Series is one of my absolute favorites & I am HIGHLY anticipating book #3 which will be released on 8/31/2012

Here's a glimpse of what to expect from Blood Bond:

Hybrids.

If I had to choose one word to sum up all of my problems, this would be it.
Without hybrids, I wouldn’t have to watch my best friend slowly becoming a monster. Without hybrids, I could let go of the mentality “hunt or be hunted.” CHAS wouldn’t be scouring the Earth, intent on slaughtering and using Alex to do it. Without hybrids, I wouldn’t have to be on guard that losing my temper meant losing my shape. There would be no monster inside me, struggling to get out.

Then again, without hybrids, I wouldn’t have Wesley St. John.

Now here's the gorgeous cover:

HOTNESS RIGHT!?

Make sure you stalk Heather in all the right places

This is the reality for sons and daughters of fallen angels.

She’s aware of a struggle within herself, an inexplicable pull toward danger, but Anna, the ultimate good girl, has always had the advantage of her angel side to balance the darkness within. It isn’t until she turns sixteen and meets the alluring Kaidan Rowe that she discovers her terrifying heritage and her willpower is put to the test. He’s the boy your daddy warned you about. If only someone had warned Anna.

First Thought: This is the Red Bull of books!

There may be some of you who are like, ‘What the heck doesRed Bull have to do with this book?’, well let me enlighten you. Red Bull isthe equivalent of oxygen to me. It’s my life force. Now go back and reread thatfirst sentence……clearly you now understand what I’m trying to say??

First, and foremost, I have to THANK times 1,000,000 Mindy from Magical Urban Fantasy Reads for pushing this book into my hands (who cometo find out, had it pushed into her hands by Jamie @ Two Chicks on Books). It’s not that I didn’t want to read it, honestly my Cover Whore fell in love with it the first I saw it, but my reading schedule this past month has beenhectic. So, after the reading haze cleared, I jumped head first into Sweet Evil.

Stunning. There are about a million different wordsthat I could use to describe everything about this book. The unique characters, brilliantly thought out back history, and the vivid raw emotions at every turn….I’ll try to tone it down a little.

Anna seems like just your run-of-the-mill, average girl, who just can happen to sense and see people’s emotions. So many different things factor into Anna, one being her overly protective mother who will seldom let her off her leash. Surprisingly, her mother didn’t turn me off like I thought she would. The reasoning behind everything that she did beautifully intertwined with the plot. Of course there was a defining moment when Anna starts to realize that she’s more. From that moment on it was full speed ahead, finding answers is what she wants, and discovering more then she bargained for is exactly what happens!

Speaking of plot, HOLY MOSES! (Bahaha, great play on words there) I can NOT count the amount of times I was left breathless, speechless, and on the verge of tears. And sometimes this all happened at the same time! With Anna being thrust into such an awkward situation with Kaiden (Kai, like Thai), I mean I wouldn’t mind having to travel across the country with him in a car, but knowing how close that Sin is would leave my mind reeling too.

Honestly right now I want to spew from the mouth for probably a good 20 minutes about all the different elements that amazed me, the twists that shattered what I thought knew about the people in this book….and especially how many times I fell in love with these characters over and over again. Well except for Ginger, she’s some what of a snatch.

Ok….now how to wrap up this rant of a review….READ THIS BOOK NOW!

Forgetting who you are, your ambitions, your passions is crippling….but remembering – embracing your purpose with a new sense of determination is more than empowering….it's life altering. Charlie Myers is on a life altering path that will cause the dammed to humble in silence.

One night…just a few friends, how could it go so wrong? That was the question seventeen year old Charlie Myers was asking when she found herself in the ER. Outwardly nothing was wrong with Charlie, she was a vision of perfect heath, internally she was battling a raging headache…one the doctor told her she would overcome shortly, but Charlie knew something else was wrong …very wrong.

Part of her had been stolen…she was missing memories. Those memories were sacred. They held the key to her sanity. They told her that the sinister whispers, the shadows that came to life before her were not as ominous as she felt they were. They held the bond with her late father, a famed musician. They caused her to forget the one talent that allowed her to face the darkness that haunted her every waking hour. They also masked a much deeper bond, the face of the one that had stolen her heart, long before the age of seventeen.

Sitting in the ER with her angry mother she couldn’t figure out what she was missing, or even how. Her thoughts told her that she needed to protect Britain, a friend of hers, but that didn’t make any sense – Britain didn’t need to be protected from anyone, he was strong, young, and absurdly wealthy. Charlie also knew that even though her friend Bianca called Charlie her best friend, she didn’t trust her …she was almost sure she despised her, but she couldn’t figure out why, or understand how random thoughts were telling her that she adored both Britain and Bianca – that they were her saviors – that they brought silence to the unstoppable whispers, but the silence scared Charlie. In her mind anyone or anything that could bring silence to something that dark could not be good.

Charlie wanted to stay in NY, figure out what she was missing, why, and who was behind it all, but her mother had other plans. Against her will, Charlie was sent to Salem to live with her sister, within that small town Charlie found her memories and so much more.

Her story begins now.

First Thought: Edge of my seat the WHOLE time!

Plunging into SEE I already had high hopes for it because of Jamie's previously published, Insight Series. There’s just something about the way that she writes that calls to my soul. It’s vivid, emotional and takes my breath away.

Forgetting who you are and everything you've know sucks. Initially I felt SO bad for Charlie, but then I kind of started to appreciate her memory loss. As she moves back home and starts remembering everything, it's like you're watching her fall in love for the first time. Though there's underlying issues, the relationship that she creates with Draven is awesome!
Trying to find her "way back" has her whole life turned upside down. With temptation always calling....literally....it almost seems like she'll never return to the person she once was.

This is where I really started to get into it, Charlie has moved away from all the evil in her life, but yet it's right there at every turn. She seems so confused at times that you wonder which side of the line she's going to land on. Even though everything her heart calls to her feels right, it seems that the Darkness could have something a little interesting to offer her.

Trying to sum this up without babbling on and on and on seems difficult. I want to gush and rant, and gush and rant! Though keep in mind that I mean rant in a completely positive way. Charlie is possibly one of my favorite female leads of all time. It's not because she's quick and witty, it's because you can see how true & pure her heart is. She wants nothing more then for the ones that she loves to be safe. It's no wonder that her and Draven are meant for each other....and have a mentioned how yumm-tastic Draven is??!! This man has more patience  then I could EVER find. Knowing that the person you love can't remember you or recall your last conversation, that to me would be soul-crushing. But Draven keeps his faith in Charlie and knows that what they have can't be tainted by magic....can it??

Overall this book was fab! Number 2 should be equally amazing, but only time will tell :)
